２０２５年 E-News & Songs １月度活動報告
１月９日銀座オフィスにて、1月度の例会を開催。
1月例会は総会とし、24年度の活動報告書、会員名簿、会計報告書を確認し、その後皆さんから今年の抱負をお聞きした。 今例会にはサピアタワーの頃参加されていたメンバーの復帰参加があった。
引き続き、The New York Times から「Nuclear Weapons Are not a Fact of Life ; 核兵器は現実のものではない」を教材に選び、以下の要領で会を進めた。
① 担当箇所を各自朗読し、概要の説明と主要英文の解釈・解説をする。
② 本文の主張ポイントを考える。
・「核兵器の威力の本質は使用された時威力ではなく、相手が感じる恐怖感」
The power of nuclear weapons is not their power when they are used, but the sens
of fear felt by the other party.
・「核使用が地球規模の自殺行為となる恐れを安全保障の基盤としている異常性」
The anormaly of basing security on the fear that the use of nuclear weapons would be a global suicide of pact.
・「地道な、一般人による活動が現実の核廃絶に有力であるとする見方」
The view that steady, public action is the most effective way to achieve nuclear abolition.
③話し合い ― 以下のテーマで行う。
・核兵器の廃絶を今の日本で主張することは出来るのか？
Can Japan advocate the abolition of nuclear weapons today?
・いつか日本は核兵器の廃絶を主張できるのか？
Can Japan advocate the abolition of nuclear weapons someday？
・非核国のウクライナが核保有国のロシアから攻撃された事実をどう考えればよい
のか？
What should we think about the fact that Ukraine, a non-nuclear power, was attacked by Russia, a nuclear power?
議論百出し、①，②まで進んだが③については時間の制約もあり、次回に再度取り上げ改めて論議すること にした。
