今月は毎日新聞英語版のEditorial “As Japan gov’t asks court to dissolve Unification Church, victims need support”(日本政府は裁判所に旧統一教会の解散を申し立て、被害者は支援を必要としている) という記事を選びました。２０２３年10月13日政府は一年にわたる調査の後、旧統一教会の解散命令請求を行いました。冒頭の２０分で記事の英語に関する疑問点を話し合い、その後次のような視点からこの問題について意見交換しました。
Q１．旧統一教会はこれまでにどのような問題を引き起こしてきたでしょうか。どんなことが問題なのでしょうか。安部元総理の暗殺事件のあと、どの様なことが分かってきたのでしょうか。
Q２．旧統一教会の信者２世を含む被害者を救済しその悪質な活動を今後続けさせないためには何が必要だと思われますか。
以下はメンバーの皆さんのご意見です。広範囲にわたる意見が出されました。
Q1. 旧統一教会の問題点に対する見解
１．旧統一教会をめぐる問題は昨年７月の安部元首相が教会信者の息子に暗殺されて初めて注目されるようになった。それはBBC報道や海外メディアに犯罪が取り上げられて初めて有名なエンターテインメント業界の大物の忌まわしい性犯罪が日本のメディアや社会に明らかになったことと似ている。また自民党の政治家が選挙区での教会からの票を求めてつながりを持っていたことも明らかになった。噂は何年もの間あったが、政府、司法行政、マスメディアは真剣に調査せず、長年、公にされることはなく曖昧にされていた。あらゆる面に現れる曖昧さ”ambiguities”が政治や色々な社会活動に影響している。
The problems surrounding the Unification Church came under the spotlight only after former Prime Minister Shinzo Abe who had the large political power was gunned down in July last year. There is quite a similarity with how the Japanese mass media and our society started to spotlight or openly take up the issue of disgusting sexual crime committed by the founder of a famous entertainment giant only after the crime was taken up by the BBC documentary or the media overseas. Relations of the rumored Japanese LDP politicians, counting on the help from the Church for supporting their votes in the constituencies, came under the spot light. Years have passed since the revelation of the rumored evil practices of the Church. Rumor had been there for years but the government, judicial administration, mass media did not seriously rise up in the investigation and the case had been kept in some aspects hidden and ambiguous from the public for years.
２．文鮮明の教義 (Sun Myung Moon’ｓ doctrine) 文鮮明はメサイア＝救い主＝神である。救い主は韓国に生まれた。日本は韓国支配４０年に対する贖罪をしなければならない。
Sun Myung Moon is Messiah=God. Messiah was born in Korea. Japan must compensate drudgery to Korean people during 40 years occupation of Korea.
旧統一教会の本質は日本人をその教義に基づいてマインドコントロールし、日本人を精神的に韓国に従属させ、日本人信者が自発的に多額の献金をするように誘導する組織的な収奪団体であると思う。
The reality of the cult (former Unification Church) is a systematically well-organized predatory group through their mind-control method against the Japanese people based on its doctrines, attempting to get Japanese people spiritually subservient to Korea, and induces Japanese believers to voluntarily donate large amount of money.
教会の運営資金の７０％は日本が担っており、その原資は日本における霊感商法や信者からの経済的搾取により得られた金であるとされる。
70% of the cult’s operating funds is said to be from Japan, the source of which are obtained through spiritual sales and economic exploitation of believers in Japan.
日本統一教会教義の確信は「堕落論」にあり、この中に「万物復帰」の教えというのがある。即ち「全ての万物は神に捧げなければならないという統一教会の集金システムで最終的に信者の全財産を捧げさせるためのものである。
The doctorial conviction of the Unification Church Japan is “The theory of the fall” including the teaching “The return of all things” saying that “all things must be given to God.” This is the Unification Church’s money collection system, and it is designed to make believers ultimately dedicate all their wealth to the Unification Church.
３．
A どんな宗教でもその教義ならびに宗教行為を理由として宗教法人を罰することはできない。
B 宗教団体は信者を使い容易に政治家の選挙運動支援を通じて関係を築き、自己組織を保全し、有力な圧力団体と化す。 その結果、政治に重大な影響力を及ぼす。
今回表面化した統一教会問題は上記問題点Ａ,Ｂが事実であることを明らかにした。
No religion is punishable for the cause of its theology or religious activity thereof.
Utilizing its believers, religious organization helps politicians’ election campaigns, forges relationship with them, ensures the security of itself and becomes a formidable lobby. And as a result, it has a substantial political clout.
The problems arising from Unification Church revealed that both above problems of A and B actually have existed.
Q2. 旧統一教会問題に対処すべきことの見解
1. 曖昧さを受け入れない人材を育てる。長期的な視点での子供の教育改革が必要。
We should grow human resources who do not accept ambiguities. From a long-term perspective, children’s education reform is inevitable.
２．
解散命令の必達
犯罪集団と自民党は決別すべき
被害者救済のため、フランスで実行されているような専門集団の組織が必要
教団の賠償金の保全
日本における宗教リテラシーの教育が必須
Dissolution is inevitable.
LDP should shut down the Church.
The full-scale organization with well-equipped human resource (expert of councilor and clinical psychotherapists and lawyers) as is practiced in France should be established.
Preservation of the asset for the victim’s compensation.
Education of literacy of religion in Japan.
No mind preparation and no knowledge of religion invite mind control by followers.
３．
a 宗教法人の規模の巨大化、力の強大化を防止するために,一定規模以上の宗教法人に関し、税制優遇を打ち切る。
ｂ 政教分離を現実的にするために政治、及び政治家への宗教法人から政治的行為に関与があった時は、宗教団体に重罰を課する。
To prevent a religious corporation from becoming massive and strong, deprive a certain level or bigger corporations of the preferential tax evasion measure.
To ensure separation of church and state, crack down on such a corporation that has any relation concerning political activity from the corporation to politics or politician.
